Community Tree Decorating

Maercker PTA is decorating a tree at the Westmont Holly Days tree walk. We're inviting our wildcats to come add an ornament to the tree that represents a holiday tradtion or culture that they celebrate, or show your wildcat pride! We can begin decorating on November 28th at tree #10.

Ornament Guidelines from the Westmont Park District:

Please remember durability when making your ornaments. The ornaments need to withstand the elements of winter. Ornaments should be painted, varnished, shellacked or laminated. Please hang ornaments with yarn or string and do not use sharp edged wire and/or pipe cleaners. Tie ornaments on tight, so they do not blow off. 

To ensure your ornaments are highly visible, we suggest they be no smaller than 3" x 3" and no larger than 4" x 6". 

Recommended materials for ornaments: *Popsicle sticks with decorations *Ribbon tied on branches *Laminated paper *Wood Items Not permitted as ornaments: *No food items (examples: popcorn, bird seed, cranberries, cereal, dog biscuits) *Tinsel

*Un-laminated Paper *Strung beads *Clothes pins *Plastic needlepoint *Decorated Styrofoam*Foil-wrapped objects Please keep all decorations in good taste; no offensive or defaming ornaments allowed. The Holly Days committee reserves the right to remove any decorations that may be deemed offensive.
