Fuel D60 Initiative
Fuel D60 is a Maercker District 60 PTA initiative dedicated to making sure every student in our district has what they need to stay focused, energized, and supported throughout the day.
We’re collecting individually packaged, nut-free snacks for students at Holmes, Maercker, and Westview Hills Middle School, along with non-perishable food items to support district families who may need a little extra help.
Donation bins are located in each school’s main office for easy drop-off.
If you prefer to contribute financially, you can donate through this page to help the PTA purchase snacks and food items.
💛 Thank you for coming together to Fuel D60. Your kindness helps feed minds, hearts, and families across our community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do classroom snacks have to be nut-free?
A: Many classrooms include students with nut allergies, so all individually wrapped snacks for classroom use must be completely nut-free. This helps ensure that every student can safely enjoy a snack during the school day.
Q: Can I still donate items that contain nuts?
A: Yes! Items such as peanut butter, mixed nuts, or products made with nuts are absolutely welcome for our general food drive donations. These items go to families through our pantry-style distributions, where parents are aware of any allergies their household may have.
Q: Can I donate fresh items like fruit or bread?
A: We welcome apples, oranges, and clementines. Please avoid items that require refrigeration or spoil quickly.
Q: How are monetary donations used?
A: All funds go directly toward purchasing the most-needed nut-free snacks and non-perishable food items for distribution within our district.
Q: Can my business or group host a collection drive?
A: Absolutely! Email us at FuelD60@maerckerpta.org and we’ll provide a Fuel D60 collection kit and flyer to help you get started.
